Mineral Deficiencies

Weston Price’s Amazing Research on Mineral Deficiencies:
Parental Vitamin and Mineral Deficiencies Responsible For Damage to Offspring and Society
Dr. Weston A. Price, D.D.S., conducted pioneering research on the effects of vitamin and mineral deficiencies, by studying different populations around the globe. Price had access to skulls that were hundreds and even thousands of years old, which provided him the opportunity to compare the dental health and cranial structures of modern populations with that of their ancestors. Price recounts a great deal of this work in Nutrition and Physical Degeneration, a work meticulously researched and full of hundreds of photographs and a large amount of data. In village after village around the globe, Price painstakingly examined all the teeth of large numbers of people. He checked for any evidence of dental decay, past or present, as well as any sign of abnormal dental arches or cranial structure. He studied the typical diet of each community in detail and samples of various foods were taken for analysis. The sheer volume of data he collected in his travels is staggering. The diets of these populations Price studied were as varied as the geographical settings might suggest. The central consistent finding Price found was that so long as a population remained on traditional diets that were free of “modern” imported-foods, they remained virtually free of dental cavities. This was accomplished without a toothbrush or any attempt at dental hygiene. Actually, Price had to clean debris off the teeth in these populations before he could examine them. In addition, these groups of people continued to produce healthy offspring with properly formed dental arches with ample space for all thirty-two adult teeth, with proper cranial structures. Among these people, there was little evidence of insanity, mental retardation, criminal behavior, delinquency, and another all too common aspects of “civilization”. Birth complications were also rare, as women conceived in these conditions would typically have pelvic structures more than adequate for birthing their own children. Degenerative illness like cancer, diabetes, heart disease, osteoporosis, and arthritis were quite rare or even entirely absent. A short time after these populations turned away from their native diet and began eating processed foods, all the above factors shifted in a detrimental fashion: dental cavities rapidly became prevalent, degenerative diseases appeared with great frequency; and insanity, mental retardation, criminal behavior, and delinquency all became commonplace. The first generation of females conceived under these conditions routinely experienced complications when giving birth to their children due to a decided narrowing of the pelvic structure – a situation almost completely unknown to their female ancestors. These negative traits which were all once the exception rapidly became the rule under the influence of modern foods.
Another trend witnessed was that soon after one or both parents shifted over to a modern diet away from a natural diet, their offspring had dental problems. Children became born with inadequate dental arches as well as deformed cranial structures. This leads to crowding of the wisdom teeth, crooked teeth and other abnormalities, including an underdevelopment of the face. Today, in order to fix our incorrect cranial structures, we have Craniosacrial therapy, an alternative medicine therapy used by osteopaths, massage therapists, naturopaths, chiropractors, physical therapists, and occupational therapists. The practitioner gently works with the spine and the skull and its cranial sutures, diaphragms, and fascia. In this way, the restrictions of nerve passages are said to be eased, the movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the spinal cord is said to be optimized, and misaligned bones are said to be restored to their proper position. Craniosacral therapists use the therapy to treat mental stress, neck and back pain, migraines, TMJ Syndrome, and for chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia. It is believed that the malformed cranial structure is responsible for unhealthy breathing, meaning lack of oxygen at the cellular level within the body. The mere existence of this field strongly implies much of a contributing factor of all these conditions being caused by craniosacrial imbalances, is the mineral deficiency of the parents at or before the time of conception.
Price found that this problem of parental vitamin and mineral deficiencies caused offspring to be born with a lower level of intelligence and that their mental capacity was also being damaged. In addition, other problems were found only in the groups whose parents had the deficiencies. These include hare-lip, cleft palate, narrow hips, narrow face, constricted nostrils, mental backwardness, skulls defects of the face and the floor of the brain, juvenile delinquency, brain defects, mongoloidism, idiocy, etc. This all suggests that maternal nutrition during both pregnancy and lactation is very important, but also that parental nutrition prior to and at time of conception is even more important. It is essential, because once the child is born, the damage to the cranial structure and mental capacity of the offspring is permanent. The child is already injured at this point due to the defective egg and/or sperm resulting from the faulty nutrition of parents. In short – the sins of the parents are visited unto the children. Price used the term intercepted heredity to describe this situation.
Proper Nutrition Provides Protection & Reversal of Tooth Decay
Price also found that improved nutrition will result in improved quality of the saliva itself, and so long as the saliva also has access to the cavity, no further decay can take place. Under the same circumstances, the decayed tooth will be remineralized via the saliva and the teeth will begin to regenerate. These are quite impressive observations. As noted by dentist Melvin Page, cavities are 100% preventable, and it is possibly the most prevalent degenerative disease. “One must correct the body chemistry to do so [to prevent cavities] and instruct the patient so that the efficiency of body chemistry can be maintained. When we do this we automatically prevent other degenerative diseases which require greater inefficiency of the body chemistry for their inception.”
Contemplation
People can maintain life (albeit in a state of gradual deterioration) for extended periods of time on many types of diets. They may even feel reasonably well as their bodies slowly decline. But a truly sufficient diet would certainly as a bare minimum meet the aforementioned criteria.
We should strongly consider the long-term permanent costs to ourselves, our offspring, and society in terms of dental bills, the need for cesarean section interventions, criminal behavior, prison sentences, prescription drug costs, mental hospitals, and more. In addition, by avoiding nutrition by choosing processed foods that lack minerals, we are cursing our children with the unfortunate circumstances of a permanent physical deformity. This is all because the parents chose to eat processed foods before conception. I beg you to consider, is the cost-savings of buying packaged, canned, and non-organic foods at a grocery store or dollar store really worth the savings? Why do people spend more on designer jeans or name brand televisions, but settle for inferior foods that taste so bland they have to be flavored with artificial chemicals? ***********************************
